Locate Management Institute

This 1 day (up to 8 hours) online utility locator training course is aimed at developing knowledge and skills associated with locating underground utilities (electric power, gas distribution, and telecommunications). This utility locator training course provides an Underground Facility Locator (UFL) advanced solutions to abnormal operating conditions (AOC's).

Version 5.0 of the Underground Facility Locator's Field Task Competency Manual is available now. The UFL Manual specifies Locator training standards and competencies requirements in an effort to increase the accuracy and reliability of locates. The Manual, developed by Locate Management Institute, contains task descriptions written by subject matter experts with input from industry stakeholders.

This (2 hour) online course training course is aimed at developing knowledge and skills associated with locating underground utilities (transmission, petroleum, electric power, gas distribution, and telecommunications).

Version 1.0 of the Safe Digging - A Guide to PROPPER Ground Disturbance is now available. The content and organization of this manual closely follows Locate Management Institute’s online Safe Digging - Supervisory Ground Disturbance course and can be used as a reference for the course.

Developed with input from a cross-sector of industries, Locate Management Institute's online Safe Digging - Supervisory Ground Disturbance (SD201) 1 day (up to 8 hours) course is aimed at developing advanced ground disturbance (excavation) skills and attitudes.

Version 1.0 of the Digging Awareness - Gold Shovel Standard Manual is now available. The content and organization of this manual closely follows Locate Management Institute’s online Gold Shovel Standard Digging Awareness course and can be used as a reference for the course.
